Larry Heksel is presented his retirement watch by President DeWeerdt at the April unit meeting. Brother Heksel was a steward from the Muskegon unit and is retiring after 37 years of service.
Local 1106 President Pam Deweerdt presents Helen Krannitz with an IBEW service award. Mrs. Krannitz was recognized for being an "A" member of IBEW Local 1106 for 55 years. She hired with General Telephone in 1952 and retired in 1975. Mrs. Krannitz spent her entire career as a traffic operator. She loved the "route and rate" job. She has 2 children, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Congratulations Helen!
Muskegon members Chuck Hecox, Sam Moler, and Steve Bailey are presented watches at their retirement party held in July. Congratulations!
The 6th annual IBEW 1106 Golf Tourney
was again a great success. The team of Woody Ingram, Larry Kellaris, Larry Wing, and Jamie Wing took first place at nine under. Thank you to all the participants and organizers for another great tournament. The following

Brian Groom presented Member Louis Keiser of Alpena with a 65 year service award.
Sixty-Five members, retirees, and guests braved the weather and attended the
Muskegon Unit Christmas Party
on December 1, 2007. A steak dinner and live music were enjoyed by all. Several attendees won door prizes. Linda (Larry) Hecksel won a union jacket that was donated by Bill Kempf. See you next year!
